Ilustrated below is a postage stamp issued in Danzig (now Gdansk in Poland) a German city isolated from Germany that was for a time considered a "Free State" within Polish borders but not part of Poland. The 1920's was a period of hyper-inflation in Germany and this also affected Danzig. In 1923 12 stamps were issued with values ranging from 250 Marks to 500,000 Marks.
