Illustrated below is a partial set of 1940. The set was issued to commemorate the first adhesive postage stamps issued during the reign of Queen Victoria in 1840. The two portraits are of Queen Victoria and George the 6th reigning British monarch in 1940. The set consisted of six values, Halfpenny (green), 1 Penny (scarlet), Penny/Halfpenny (red-brown), 2 Penny (orange), 2 Penny/Halfpenny (ultramarine) and 3 Penny (violet). All are illustrate with the exception of the 3 Penny (violet).
