Shown below is a partial set of the stamps issued for the Virgin Islands for 1952. The set consisted of twelve values from 1 Cent to $4.80 Cents. Illustrated below are the values from 1 Cent to 60 Cents. Some designs were scenes of Virgin Island life, others, maps of individual Islands of the Virgin Island Group, with a late portrait of George the 6th in an oval to the left edge of the stamp. Not illustrated are the $1.20 (black and bright blue) with a design of Sir Francis Drake Channel, the $2.40 (yellowish-green and red-brown) with a design of Road Town, the capital city of the Virgin Islands and the $4.80 (bright blue and carmine) with a design of a map of the Virgin Islands. The 24 Cent value shows the badge of the Presidency of the Virgin Islands. Below the set are details of the 5 Cent and 60 Cent values.
