Illustrated below are two examples of the late 19th Century issues of the Half Cent Newfoundland Dog postage stamp. Originally issued in 1887 in rose-red the stamp was re-issued in 1892 in black and again in 1896 in orange-vermilion. The orange-vermilion issue is the more highly valued of the two.
